What is a distance Reiki session like via Zoom?

The first thing I would say is that there’s not really a “typical” — just like everyone is different, so are their Reiki sessions.

What I can share, though, is how I typically approach an online distance Reiki session.

Two Types of Distance Reiki

I offer two types of distance Reiki:

  • Via Zoom, where the client and I interact similarly to how we might if we were in the same geographical space

  • Background, where the client and I do not have direct communication during the session itself

For the purposes of answering this question, I will be covering the first option: via Zoom.  If you’d like to know more about how background sessions are conducted, I cover that here.

After You Book

After your distance Reiki session is booked through the website, you will receive a link to our Zoom room.

If you do not have Zoom downloaded on your phone, tablet, or computer, please do so before our meeting time in order to make sure that the technology will be set.

If you have any questions about the automated communications you receive from my side, please reach out, and I’ll be happy to do what I can.

For more suggestions on how to prepare for a distance Reiki session, you can read this more in-depth article.

Beginning the Session

When we connect via Zoom for our distance Reiki session, there will be a brief consultation period at the beginning so that we can discuss how you’re feeling, any intentions you have for our session, and any questions you have about the process or anything else that I could help with.

Once we feel that the consultation portion is complete, I will test our audio systems (yours and mine) to make sure that you can adequately hear the sound healing playlist that I’ve created for you for our session.

Once the tech is all set, it’s time for you to get comfortable. This can mean stretching out on a sofa or bed or snuggling up in your favorite chair…or maybe enjoying nature on your patio. Whatever “comfortable” means to you, do that. :D

During the Session

When we begin the “hands-on” portion of the distance Reiki session, the sound healing playlist will be playing in the background for both of us, and I will be acting as a conduit for the Reiki to flow into your energetic body so that it can work to your highest and greatest good.

So what does this feel like? Well, again, it depends on the person and the day, but the most common reported experience from my clients is that they feel incredibly relaxed and that “noise” is often gone from their minds, like a meditative state.

For more suggestions on what to do during a distance reiki session, you can read this more in-depth article.

Ending the Session

Once the “hands-on” portion of the co-located Reiki session is completed, I will gently rouse you from whatever state you happen to be in (it’s common for clients to fall asleep or slightly dose), and when you are ready, we can discuss any experiences you had during the session or any questions you might have.

Still Have Questions?

This is a high-level overview of what a distance Reiki session with me (via Zoom) would be like.

If you have more questions that I didn’t address here, based on your specific condition or anything else, please don’t hesitate to ask me. I’d love to see how I could be of service!
